Concordia Thunder Ends Regular Season with Convincing 11-0 Victory Over Wolves

(EDMONTON, AB) In their final home game of the 2023 regular season, Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder showcased their dominance with a commanding 11-0 victory over the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves.

The Thunder's offensive prowess was on full display in the first half as they netted six goals, demonstrating their intent to finish the regular season on a high note. Brooke Lesoway opened the scoring in the 9th minute, followed by a flurry of goals from Vanessa Pietramala, Elizabeth Crothers, and more.

Northwestern Polytechnic struggled to break through Concordia's defense, and goalkeeper Robyn Alexandruk made an impressive 22 saves during the match. In contrast, Concordia's relentless attack resulted in 50 shots on goal. The Thunder closed their regular season with an 11-0 victory against the Wolves.

The One Team Sport player of the game went to #6 Natalie Lurk for the Wolves, making some key plays and keeping Thunder on their toes. The players of the game for the Thunder went to the graduating athletes, Beth Crothers, Monica Dickson, Breanna Callander, Madison Gamache, Sara Hrywkiw, Audrey French, and Brooke Lesoway, in honor of their accomplishments and career in ACAC Sport.

The Thunder will now head to the ACAC Championships taking place here in Edmonton, beginning October 26th. Congratulations to the Thunder Women's team on another incredible regular season.
