Thunder fall to Clippers despite their strong offensive game

EDMONTON, AB (October 15th, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder take on the Briercrest Clippers for game two of the weekend. A strong offensive effort for the Thunder but unable to capitalize bringing the score 4-3 Clippers.

Rustlers opened up the scoring soon after puck drop, with #6 Jake Dale putting one in the net in the first minute and a half. The first period continued back and forth with Thunder having a lot of offensive chances. Concordia looks to even things up in the second period with #20 Dalton Wilten scoring 16:40 into the period on the power play. Rustlers unhappy with the penalty kill result and regains their lead with #13 Jaedon Little bringing them to 2-1. They widen the gap shortly after with #9 Alex Pellerin scoring the last goal of the period making it 3-1 Rustlers. Clippers continued to push offensively in the 3rd period where we saw #5 scoring with 7:25 left to play. Thunder outshot the Rustlers in each period of the game and continued at this pace regardless of 4-1 score. #37 Cason Kurylo scores with immediacy merely 10 seconds after the Rustlers third goal. Concordia battle till the end and put on in the net with 42 seconds left to play but unable to even the board despite their strong offensive attempts.
