Thunder Puts Up a Fight but Huskies Return Home 2-0

EDMONTON, AB (January 21st, 2023) - Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder went up against the Keyano Huskies for round two of the weekend and looked to even things out. Once CUE found their footing they put up a tough fight for Keyano, but even with the strong effort it wasn't enough to beat the Huskies.

In the first set, the Thunder kicked things off with some great plays but the Huskies read them well. The Huskies won the first set 25-13. The second set was all about powerful spikes and even better digs. Eventually, the Huskies managed to create some space and execute a few good blocks at the end. They win the second set 25-20 and lead 2-0. The Thunder gained more and more traction and tied the 3rd set frequently. Despite their strong efforts, CUE fell to Keyano 25-20 and won the game 3-0.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #8 Radoslaw Brzowzowski from the Huskies, with 5 kills and 5 digs in the game. From the Thunder, #11 Carson Hillburn with 3 service aces, 4 kills, and 3 blocks. The next home game for the Concordia Thunder will be against the NAIT Ooks on Friday, January 27th at 8 PM. We hope to see you there!
