Men's Hockey Recruiting Class of 2018
Head Coach Dan Glegloff is proud to announce our first 5 new recruits for the 2018-19 season. The Thunder returned to the playoffs the last 2 seasons and now look to move to the next level in the competitive development of the team. “We feel like we have added some excellent players to our dressing room and more importantly we have added character and leadership that will contribute to our teams identity and culture”
Charlie Gawlicki - Forward
Charlie is a product of Edmonton’s South Side Athletic Club and spent the last 3 years playing with the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the AJHL, Charlie served as Captain during his 20 year old season. Charlie is a versatile player that can play both Center and Right Wing, he has the ability to contribute to all special teams and brings with him excellent leadership ability.
Curtis Peck – Forward
Curtis is a native of St.Albert and joins the Thunder following a 3 year Junior A career in the AJHL and SJHL. Curtis was the captain of the La Ronge Ice Wolves in 2016 and last year he was a key member of the Kindersley Clippers. Curtis is a hardnosed forward that has the ability to provide offence. Throughout his junior career, Curtis was lauded for his character and he will be a great addition to the Thunder dressing room.
Chasetan Braid – Forward
Chasetan is from Wainwright, Alberta and joins the Thunder following an impressive 4 year Junior career in the WHL(Saskatoon Blades), AJHL(Bonnyville and Lloydminster) and SJHL(Battlefords). Last year in Battlefords, Chasetan was a key member of the Northstars first line and contributed 35 points in 48 games. Chasetan is a physical and skilled power forward and will help add to the scoring depth of the Thunder.
Ian Mclellan – Forward
Ian returns to Concordia following a season spent studying abroad and playing in Denmark with the Jutland Vikings of the Denmark2 professional league. Ian was an ACAC 2nd team all-conference player for the Thunder in 2016-17 and last season with the Vikings he produced an impressive 42 points in 28 games. Ian will return to the Thunder and be a key component of the leadership group.
Connor Managre – Defence
Connor is from Meota, Saskatchewan and is a “hardnosed’ defenceman. He played the last 2 seasons close to home with the Battledfords North Stars of the SJHL and was a member of the SJHL Championship team in 2017. Connor is determined player who is hard to play against, makes and excellent first pass and plays very physical in his own zone.
